Classes

I teach regular classes around the Stratford-upon-Avon area. There are classes suitable for absolute beginners, improvers, and a couple that are for mixed level. Classes usually run for 10 week terms, but I also run skype sessions and occasionally run one-off sessions and tasters.

A typical class will begin with a warm up and stretch followed by learning or revising moves. This part of the class may also involve some veil work, travelling steps, and learning to dance with props. More advanced students will be given more challenging moves and combinations, as well as studying different styles or aspects of Belly Dance. Most of the classes include some element of culture, history or general news about Middle Eastern Dance. We then usually work on a choreography, learning a few moves each week, until we have completed the dance at the end of term. The class ends with a cool down, which incorporates some free dancing or students own stretches.
